The season’s fine weather held for the annual Junior Awards evening, but only just. Within 20 minutes of the end of the awards presentation, the rain which had been threatening all evening made a brief appearance, driving those less familiar with English cricket season rain and without umbrellas into the pavilion, often accompanied by their own personal bottle of Prosecco!
The Awards evening was well attended and magnificently catered for by Nick Coffin who produced two vast Paella pans of which none was left, and all was enjoyed. At the same time Huw and his supporters ran a very busy bar, the Larkins and Pimm’s disappearing fast, for thirsty parents and players.
The awards were presented, on behalf of the George & Dragon, one of our main sponsors, by Michelle Newby the General Manager.

Always sad to see a season end but encouraging to see so many young cricketers enjoying their sport in each other’s company and so many parents happy to support their youngsters’ growing love for the game.
