Over the winter, it was made clear our sheds finally needed replacing as heavy rain caused extensive damage to the roof, causing a great deal of equipment to be damaged or relocated.
The rebuild was unavoidable as we need shed storage for the club to run, and the work needed to be completed immediately in order to keep our equipment dry and safe. Some of you will have noticed that work has already begun and we have relocated our equipment to the new shed for the 2024 season.
Unfortunately after a difficult 2020 and Covid pandemic, the club finances are not as healthy as they once were, and we’ve had to secure short-term loans to cover the costs. This is unfortunate, but an emergency solution was necessary.
Speldhurst Cricket Club is community-run by a group of volunteers, and receives no external funding. Therefore, we’re asking for the help of our members, players and wider Speldhurst community! If you feel able to donate to the cost of replacing the sheds, we’d be very grateful.
