For 2024, we’re introducing some changes to the structure of match fees and annual subscriptions. Given the economic climate and rising costs everywhere, we’ve made the decision to increase both fees and subs this year.
These increases mean we fall in line with local clubs in the area, help us cover our running club costs this year, and keep our square in tip-top condition for the season.
In order to limit the average impact to members, we’re introducing a loyalty system for 2024 to reward frequent players with lower fees. Normal match fees of £15 will be charged for everyone’s first five games. This is about the average number of games a senior member of the club played last season. From match six onwards, match fees will then be reduced by a third, from £15 to £10.
For annual subscriptions, the cost will increase from £20 to £40 across the board. We’ve found that village clubs tend to charge anywhere from about £40 to £150 for annual subs, so we still feel this is a fair cost to members.
All players who play a match this season must be a paid member of the club! This is a league rule, so is non-negotiable and has been in place for a number of years. A Spond request for subs will be sent in the next couple of weeks, so look out for that.

For the ‘Concession’ rates, you must qualify under one of the following categories:
- Student (under the age of 21 and in full-time education)
- Unemployed
- Country member (does not live in Kent)
As before, we also offer a Non-Playing Membership for all those not planning to play cricket in 2024. This allows non-players the opportunity to support the club financially, have access to Spond for match reports every week, have a seat at the table at our AGM, and have access to tea and cake from the Pavilion on matchdays!
